**************************************************************************************************************How good are your listening skills? Here are five easy steps to take to assure effective listening between you and your mentee!
Active Listening Skills[1].doc
After reviewing 'Active Listening Skills', practice effective communications with a friend or neighbor. Following the session, ask your assistant how they felt about the process. Were they convinced that you were listening and really concerned about what they were saying? Did they feel comfortable talking to you? Were they more apt to speak because of your attitude and attentiveness? Consider your overall feelings about the communication segment. Now write a simple, one-page document discussing the communication experience and what, if anything, you have learned. Forward the one-page document to the Mentor Trainer at FAMILY Inc. for further review, and to receive training credits. Be sure that your name and date are prominently displayed in the upper left hand corner. Thank You.
